The Trouble with Texas Cowboys with Carolyn Brown and Linda Broday with reviews by Samantha

When Sawyer O'Donnell takes a ranch job on a whim, he lands smack dab in the middle of a Texas-sized feud! The Gallaghers and the Brennans are at each other's throats to woo the red-headed spitfire, Jill Cleary, and stake a claim for the Fiddle Creek Ranch.

Jill makes Sawyer's blood boil. They argue, they banter, but Sawyer soon goes from being driven crazy to crazy in love. Damned if he knows how that happened. But now that it has, how does he compete with two men that can give this cowgirl a lifestyle beyond her wildest dreams?

Sawyer came to burnt boot to check on his cousin and decided he wanted to stay. He gets a job as Foreman on Fiddle Creek Ranch to discover that the owners Niece has come back to work the Ranch also. The clash automatically. They can't deny that they want each other but they definitely get off to a rocky start.

They have to deal with the Gallagher and Brennan Feud as the females in both families are trying to get their paws on Sawyer and the Males in both families are trying to get Jill to the Alter. All because both families want to get their hands on Fiddle Creek.

I absolutely LOVED it! I love Carolyn Brown's books. All it took was me reading the first book in this series and she was an automatic favorite. She brings Romance, humor and Craziness together like you wouldn't believe. She is by far one of the best Western Romance writers that I have come across. You get believable characters that you can't help but fall in love with and a great story that will have you laughing out of nowhere while your family looks at you like you are crazy. I definitely recommend reading. This can be read as a stand alone although I do suggest reading book 1 first!

Hi! I'm twenty five years old and movie star gorgeous. The camera added thirty plus years and a few wrinkles. Can't trust those cameras or mirrors either. Along with bathroom scales they are notorious liars! Honestly, I am the mother of three fantastic grown children who've made me laugh and given me more story ideas than I could ever write. My husband, Charles, is my strongest supporter and my best friend. He's even willing to eat fast food and help with the laundry while I finish one more chapter! Life is good and I am blessed!

Reading has been a passion since I was five years old and figured out those were words on book pages. As soon as my chubby little fingers found they could put words on a Big Chief tablet with a fat pencil, I was on my way. Writing joined reading in my list of passions. I will read anything from the back of the Cheerio's box to Faulkner and love every bit of it. In addition to reading I enjoy cooking, my family and the ocean. I love the Florida beaches. Listening to the ocean waves puts my writing brain into high gear.

I love writing romance because it's about emotions and relationships. Human nature hasn't changed a bit since Eve coveted the fruit in the Garden of Eden. Settings change. Plots change. Names change. Times change. But love is love and men and women have been falling in and out of it forever. Romance is about emotions: love, hate, anger, laughter... all of it. If I can make you laugh until your sides ache or grab a tissue then I've touched your emotions and accomplished what every writer sets out to do.

I got serious about writing when my third child was born and had her days and nights mixed up. I had to stay up all night anyway and it was very quiet so I invested in a spiral back notebook and sharpened a few pencils. The story that emerged has never sold but it's brought in enough rejection slips to put the Redwood Forest on the endangered list. In 1997 Kensington bought two books for their Precious Gems line. Two years and six books later the line died with only four of those books seeing publication. But by then Avalon had bought a book and another, and another. Ten years later the list has grown to thirty nine. Last year Sourcebooks bought the Lucky Series which is in the bookstores now. They've also bought The Honky Tonk Series which will debut with I LOVE THIS BAR in June and will be followed by HELL, YEAH, MY GIVE A DAMN'S BUSTED, and HONKY TONK CHRISTMAS.

Folks ask me where I get my ideas. Three kids, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Note: I was a very young grandmother! Life is a zoo around here when they all come home. In one Sunday afternoon there's enough ideas to keep me writing for years and years. Seriously, ideas pop up at the craziest times. When one sinks its roots into my mind, I have no choice but to write the story. And while I'm writing the characters peek over my shoulder and make sure I'm telling it right and not exaggerating too much. Pesky little devils, they are!

I have a wonderful agent, Erin Niumata, who continues to work magic and sell my work. I'm very lucky to have her and my editors who continue to believe in me.

Happy reading!

It was strange how a day could go south quicker than a steam locomotive on a downhill slope...

Rancher Cooper Thorne thinks his life is finally on an even keel. But when mail-order bride Delta Dandridge steps off the stagecoach and claims he sent for her, he scrambles to set her straight. The tempestuous woman makes him see red and also challenges all his vows to remain a bachelor. It turns out Delta Dandridge is going to set Cooper Thorne straight about a few things...

Cooper is set as far as he is concerned. He and his brothers now live in Battle Creek. They each had their own bad childhoods. Which is what bonded them and made them brothers in the first place.  So imagine his surprise when one of his brothers tells him that his mail order bride is waiting for him in town. He did not send for a mail order bride. Now he needs to send this little liar on her way back home. Or so he thinks until he meets Delta. He can see that she has been duped just like he has. He still does not want a bride so she still needs to go. She decides to stay. Now every time he turns around she is there.

Delta cannot go back home. Answering the mail order bride add was her chance to get away from her past. When she finds out that she was scammed and she did not have a groom expecting her she decides to stay in Battle Creek anyways. She gets a job at the mercantile. The owner is a grouchy man that she is determined to win over. She is bound and determined to stay away from Cooper. Which is hard to do when he won't stay out of the store!

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I am hooked! I cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out. I will definitely be checking out other books from this author. It is a great Western Romance that draws you in from the start and keeps you hooked! I definitely recommend reading!

I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author and make my living writing western historical romance. I am so fortunate to live in the Texas Panhandle on the Llano Estacado where the American Indian and Comancheros once roamed. I published my first book in 2002 and haven't looked back. I've won many awards, the most prestigious being The National Readers' Choice Award for THE COWBOY WHO CAME CALLING. I've always been fascinated with cowboys and the American West way of life because to me these men and women embody the spirit and strength I want in my characters. My desire to keep history alive is what drives me. Also, these pesky characters in my head! They refuse to go away. I can't imagine writing anything else. My wish is to touch a reader's heart in some way and have them coming back for more. If I can do that, I'll have succeeded.

Watch for more of my exciting Bachelors of Battle Creek series! Book Two, TWICE A TEXAS BRIDE, will be coming in May 2015 and FOREVER HIS TEXAS BRIDE in December 2015.

I'm a regular contributor to www.PetticoatsandPistols.com and blog there every third Tuesday of the month. I also blog at www.prairierosepublications.blogspot.com and www.casablancaauthors.blogspot.com. I think it's important to promote western historical romance any way I can and that's what I strive to do.

My Best to each of you! May you always find a book that takes you on an exciting adventure.
