Maya and Filippo visit San Francisco by Alinka Rutkowska with review by Samantha

Maya & Filippo dock in San Francisco but they only have one day to visit and both kids want to see different things. Learn about Alcatraz, go on a cable-car ride, take a stroll through the Yerba Buena Gardens and marvel at the skyscrapers of Union Square. Then go for a quick walk on Fisherman’s Wharf and admire the sea lions. But soon it’s time to sail away and the kids still haven’t seen the Golden Gate Bridge. What can they do?

"Maya & Filippo Visit San Francisco by Alinka Rutkowska is an educational book that takes young readers on a journey to different places and countries. They travel along with Maya and Filippo who live on board a beautiful cruise ship called Fun Princess. Maya and Filippo travel all around the world with their cat Otello and their parents. In this book, readers get to experience and savor the sights and sounds of San Francisco. Through the story, readers get to know more about San Francisco, the food, culture and shopping. The book leaves readers completely familiar with the entire place by the time they finish reading the story.

I have been traveling along with Maya and Filippo to many places and I found every book by this author very educational and informative. The author's way of introducing readers to information about the place is simple and endearing. The illustrations are very bright and colorful and they give pace and movement to the story and scenes, and breathe life into the characters. All the books in this travel series are worth having in one's personal collection. This story makes a perfect bedtime read for kids and it can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries.

Books with an educational theme or a concept are good for kids to make teaching and learning easier. In this book, children get to know more about San Francisco and all the sightseeing spots and the culture of the city."

This is another cute book by Alinka Rutkowska. My children, especially my 5 year old really love this series. I read one of these books a day to them. This one is about visiting San Francisco. Filippo really wants to visit Alcatraz. Unfortunately, all of the tickets are sold out. So their mother comes up with an alternative plan and they end up having a great time. I love that there is always a quiz at the end of these books that makes the children think and actually pay attention to the book. For that reason books from this author are quickly becoming some of my favorites for my children. I would definitely recommend getting this book as well as the others for your children.

Then she sees Brad and is determined to renew her relationship with her best friend. Then she see's Bobby and everything changes. He is all she can think about. I really enjoyed this book. Lisa has went through a lot with Brad, Bobby and now Stuart. I think she has a lot of people telling her what she should do when she should just listen to her heart. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was impressed and I look forward to reading more of her work. I definitely recommend reading.

I live in Northern New Jersey. I am a wife and mother of two girls. I have been an avid reader my whole life, I cannot remember a Sunday afternoon that did not include my parents reading. We had a huge bookshelf in our den with a diverse set of authors like Ayn Rand, Stephen King, Mario Puzo & Danielle Steele.

I have always had ideas and characters running around my head but it took a few good friends to push me to start putting them down on paper.

I hope you enjoy my musings. Please feel free to contact me I would love to hear from you.

The Viscounts Christmas Temptation ( Dukes of War 0.5 ) By Erica Ridley with Review by Samantha

Certain individuals might consider Lady Amelia Pembroke a managing sort of female, but truly, most people would be lost without her help. Why, the latest on-dit is that rakish Viscount Sheffield is canceling the fĂȘte of the year because he hasn't time for silly soirees. He doesn't need time—he needs her!

When a flash of lightning destroys the venue for his family's annual Christmas ball, Lord Benedict Sheffield intends to enjoy a relaxing holiday for once. But after twelve days of beguiling Lady Amelia's guerrilla tactics, he's up to his cravat with tinsel . . . and tumbling head over heels in love.

Lady Amelia has a plan. She needs to find a husband. Not because she really wants to. She's quite satisfied with her life. But her brother needs to marry and produce an heir but he feels no need for a wife when Amelia does everything. Therefore she needs to marry and move out. So she needs for Lord Sheffield to throw his families annual Christmas ball because the only men she will consider marrying will be there. When she finds out that he doesn't plan on throwing it this year when the venue where they always have it is ruined and unable to be used she decides to help.

Benedict doesn't know what to think about the bossy female who finagles her way into his home and says she's going to help him with his family party. He doesn't plan on letting her do it but she fascinates him so he decides to play along. Because playing along means that he gets to spend more time with her. And he finds that he wants to spend as much time with her as he possibly can.

I LOVE this book! Amelia's character is wonderful. She is just the type of character that I love. A woman who knows what she wants. Or at least she thinks she does. I love Benedicts character also. I think they are the perfect couple. Erica is a wonderful writer and story teller. She really draws you into the story and I found it very hard to put this book down! I definitely recommend reading.

The Earl's Defiant Wallflower ( Dukes of War Book 1 ) by Erica Ridley with Review by Samantha

Oliver York returns from war to find his father dead, his finances in arrears, and himself the new Earl of Carlisle. If he doesn't marry an heiress—and fast!—he and his tenants are going to be pitching tents down by the Thames. He definitely shouldn't be trading kisses with a penniless debutante... no matter how captivating she is!

Miss Grace Halton is in England just long enough to satisfy the terms of her dowry. But a marriage of convenience isn't as easy as she'd hoped. Back in America, her ailing mother needs medicine only Grace's dowry can afford. Which means the dashing earl she can't get out of her mind is the one man she can't let into her heart.

Regency-set Historical Romance Novel

Enjoy the emotional, laugh-out-loud first book in USA Today bestselling author Erica Ridley's new Dukes of War regency romance series!

'I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review'

Oliver needs to marry and heiress. Grace is not what he needs. But she is who he wants more then anything. When he hears the way the men talk about her he can't resist coming to her rescue. If he gives in to his wants he may not be able to bring his estate where it needs to be let alone pay his staff. But when push comes to shove can he disregard his feelings?

Grace needs to marry a titled lord. Her grandparents expect it of her. She just needs to marry so that she can get access to her dowry to go back home to get her mother the medical attention that she needs. She has every intention of coming back but her mother is the most important thing in the world to her and she needs to help her. She wants Oliver but she knows she's not what he needs. But the more time she spends with him the more she falls.

I absolutely love this author and this series so far. There are some great characters that I can't wait to see more of in future books. I think Grace's character is wonderful. I know what it's like to love your mother that much and with that being a big factor of Grace's story it really struck a cord with me. I definitely recommend reading!
